Who we are

Roar is a brand strategy and creative studio founded by Trey Boden in Tucker, Georgia. This policy covers this website, createwithroar.com. If you ever have a question about your information, email Trey directly at trey@createwithroar.com and a real person will answer.

What we collect, and why

The only information we hold is what you choose to hand us. If you fill out the contact form on our Let’s talk page, we collect your name, your school or organization, your email address, and whatever you write in your message. We use it to reply to you and to help with the work you asked about. We do not add you to a mailing list. No lists, ever.

If you book a call with us, that happens through TidyCal, which collects the details you enter so we can meet.

We do not ask for anything sensitive, and we do not knowingly collect information from children. Because we work with schools, it is worth saying plainly: this site is for the adults who reach out to us, and we do not collect information about students through it.

Cookies

A cookie is a small file a website can store in your browser. We keep this simple.

We do not set any cookies of our own. The cookies that can end up on your device come from a few outside tools, and they fall into two groups. One more tool counts visits without any cookie at all, and it is described here too, because you should know what is running either way.

Essential, on by default. These make a specific feature work when you use it.

• hCaptcha, on the contact form, tells people apart from bots so we are not flooded with spam.
• TidyCal, when you open the booking tool, keeps your scheduling session working.

Counting visits, with no cookie and no banner. We use Vercel Web Analytics to see how many people visit and which pages they read. It runs for everyone, and it never asks, because there is nothing to ask about. It sets no cookie, saves nothing to your device, and builds no profile or identifier that could follow you around this site or any other. It counts the page, the country, the browser, and where the visit came from. That is the whole list. We added it because the only numbers we had were coming from people who accepted the banner, which told us very little about how the site was actually doing.

Google Analytics, off until you say yes. Google Analytics gives us a closer read on how people move through the site, and it sets a cookie to do it. It does not run until you accept it in the cookie banner. If you decline, or simply ignore the banner, Google Analytics never loads and no analytics cookie is set. We do not use Google Analytics data for advertising, and we do not share it for advertising.

Advertising, off until you say yes. We run ads on LinkedIn, and the LinkedIn Insight Tag helps us see whether those ads are working and lets us show our ads again to people who have already visited the site. It sets a cookie and shares some information about your visit with LinkedIn. It does not run until you accept it in the same cookie banner, alongside analytics. LinkedIn’s own privacy policy governs what it does with that information on its end.

You can change your mind on Google Analytics and LinkedIn any time using the Cookie settings link in the footer.

LinkedIn’s retargeting is a form of tracking across sites, since it is what lets our ads follow you onto LinkedIn itself. Google Analytics does not do this, and neither does Vercel Web Analytics. We do not currently respond to browser Do Not Track signals, but declining or ignoring the cookie banner keeps both tools off.

The outside tools we rely on

We keep the list short and name every one.

• Web3Forms delivers your contact form message to our email.
• Vercel Web Analytics counts visits for everyone, without a cookie.
• Google Analytics gives us a closer read, and only after you accept.
• LinkedIn Insight Tag measures our ad performance and retargeting, and only after you accept.
• hCaptcha protects the contact form from spam.
• TidyCal runs our booking calendar.
• Vercel also hosts the site and keeps standard server logs.

Each of these has its own privacy policy that governs what it does with data on its end.

Our typeface is served from our own site, so loading a page does not send your information to any font provider.

Some of these providers are based in the United States, so your information may be processed there. They rely on standard legal safeguards for handling data across borders.

How we protect your information

We use reputable providers and reasonable measures to keep your information safe. No method of sending information over the internet is ever completely secure, but we treat what you send us with care.

Your choices

• Change your cookie choice any time with the Cookie settings link in the footer.
• Turn off or delete cookies in your browser settings.
• Ask us for a copy of anything you have sent us, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it, by emailing trey@createwithroar.com. We will take care of it.
• Withdraw your consent to analytics and advertising cookies whenever you like, using that same Cookie settings link.
• We will never treat you differently for asking us to do any of these things.

If you are in the UK or the European Union, you also have the right to ask us to limit or hand over the information we hold, to object to how we use it, and to complain to your local data protection authority if you think we have gotten something wrong. We would rather you email us first so we can fix it, but the choice is yours.

How long we keep things

We keep your contact messages for up to 24 months after our last exchange, so we can reply and do the work, then we clear them out. Booking, analytics, and advertising information is kept according to TidyCal’s, Google’s, and LinkedIn’s own retention settings. We do not sell your information, and we never have.

Which laws apply

This policy is governed by the laws of the State of Georgia. If a dispute ever comes up that we cannot settle by talking it through, it would be handled by the courts of DeKalb County, Georgia (the DeKalb County Courthouse, 556 North McDonough Street, Decatur, GA 30030).

Changes to this policy

If we add a tool or change how something works, we will update this page and the date above. Nothing here is meant to be clever. If a line is unclear, ask us and we will make it plainer.
