Maranatha Christian Academy
A MessagingEQ that made the Mustangs sound like themselves.

The short version. Maranatha Christian Academy, home of the Mustangs, is a PreK through 12 Christian school. Roar built their MessagingEQ: a set of focus brand promises, tuned across three frequency bands and tested until every one rang true, so the school could say what makes it Maranatha instead of what makes it a school.
Where they started. Maranatha had no shortage of words. Viewbooks for every division, a campaign brochure, a strategic plan, program guides. What it did not have was a filter. Like most strong Christian schools, much of the language could have described any of them. The school knew it wanted to sound like itself. It just needed a way to find that sound and hold to it.
The move. We ran Maranatha through the MessagingEQ, Roar’s messaging framework. Think of it like an audio equalizer: every school’s message has three bands that have to be balanced. Purpose is the low end, the why and the beliefs underneath the work. Standard is the mid-range, the everyday experience a family can count on. Difference is the high end, the part only Maranatha can claim. We listened first and gathered the school’s real stories, then drafted brand promises across all three bands and tuned them together. We traded “innovate” for “create” because it rang truer to who they are, kept the promises centered on the child in the building today, and named teaching as a calling, not just a role. Every promise had to pass the CLEAR test: consistent, lived, emotional, authentic, and relevant.

What we made
Maranatha's brand promises: the seven that matter most. We drafted them, tuned them across the three bands, and tested each one against the CLEAR standard, consistent, lived, emotional, authentic, and relevant, until it earned its place. Every child will:
- Grow in Christ as the center of all learning and life
- Be seen as uniquely designed by God with gifts to discover
- Belong in a safe, caring environment
- Be taught by teachers who love their calling
- Be prepared for college, career, and life with a rigorous, future-ready education
- Design, build, and create with courage and curiosity
- Learn to serve others as a courageous changemaker
What happened
Maranatha walked away with more than a list. The promises live in a library the whole team can pull from, with a seasonal planner to tune which ones get loudest and when, and a use guide that puts them to work across marketing and communications, admissions, and development. One filter for every word the school publishes, and it sounds like Maranatha, not like a brochure. See it live at mcamustangs.org.
