The short version. Sagebrush & Vine Consulting came to Roar with an eleven-session leadership curriculum, Faith-Aligned Mindset, that would ground mindset, self-talk, and habit formation in scripture rather than psychology alone. The content existed but the organization did not; nothing connected one session to the next. Trey worked with them to build that connective architecture before Roar designed a word of it: the participant workbook, and a standalone companion piece, the Growth Trellis, a reflection tool built around Sagebrush & Vine’s own vine-and-trellis metaphor: a growing thing needs somewhere to anchor.

Where they started. The curriculum’s content was there, but it read as eleven separate sessions rather than one throughline. It needed a shared structure, a consistent way to organize and name each part of the journey, before a workbook could be designed around it at all.

The move. Trey reviewed the client’s own recorded teaching sessions and worked out a consistent nomenclature to organize the content, section names built on the vine metaphor at the center of the brand (Tending the Roots, Nurturing the Vine, and so on), designed to carry through not just these eleven sessions but whatever sessions Sagebrush & Vine builds next. With that architecture in place, Roar designed the workbook as a full-color, spiral-bound guide, illustrated throughout with the vine-and-scripture visual language the curriculum is built on, including the Reinforcement Spiral (how a single experience, repeated in self-talk, hardens into a belief) and the Mission to Mindset model tying it back to “Christ the Vine.” The Growth Trellis started as an open question on a working call: should each session’s reflection build toward one evolving statement, or stand on its own? Roar shaped it into a session-by-session table, Stop, Start, Continue for each of the eleven sessions, a Key Insight, and a final Anchor Statement, a personal, plain-language goal participants write for themselves and revisit. Along the way Roar also cut a redundancy from the original plan (participants would have written the same reflection twice, once in the workbook and once in the trellis) and steered the client off a three-ring binder and onto a sturdier spiral bind for a book meant to survive eleven sessions of use.

What we made:

  • A content architecture and consistent nomenclature that connects the curriculum session to session, developed from the client’s own recorded teaching and built to organize future sessions too
  • The Faith-Aligned Mindset participant workbook, spiral-bound, full color, illustrated throughout
  • The Reinforcement Spiral and Mission to Mindset diagrams, built around the client’s own scripture and vine imagery
  • My Growth Trellis, a standalone companion booklet with a session-by-session reflection table and a closing practice plan
  • Front and back matter: how the book works, an introduction to Sagebrush & Vine, and the print-ready production files

What happened. The first cohort began the curriculum on August 12, working from the printed workbook and trellis. A second cohort follows in October.
